THE ALPINE ROCK
In the heart of the Jardin, the Alpine Rock invites you to discover French and European biodiversity. Between the rock gardens, two mountain species live together: the Corsican mouflon and the Alpine marmot. The former, one of the smallest sheep in Eurasia, climbs, jumps and sometimes stops, surprised when faced with amazed walkers. The latter is shyer and lives its day-to-day life in secrecy. If it is not in a deep sleep, you will have the chance to admire it busy building its burrow, grass trapped between its teeth. You will need to be patient so as not to scare it – at the slightest danger “the guardian of the mountain” will get up on its hind legs and let out a shrill whistle. Thanks to it, the Alpine Rock will be well-protected!
