Día de los Muertos at the Jardin d'Acclimatation: When Mexico Enchants the Parisian Fall

Since 1860, the Jardin d’Acclimatation has celebrated the cultures of the world. This fall will be no exception, inviting you to set aside traditional pumpkins and celebrate life, remembrance, and the way Mexicans honor their loved ones by dressing up, wearing makeup, singing, and dancing.

Throughout the month of October, the Jardin d’Acclimatation is adorned with the shimmering colors and mysteries of Día de los Muertos, the great Mexican Day of the Dead, to offer Paris a timeless All Saints’ Day filled with magic and joy.

From the very first paths, the park is transformed into a living tableau where imagination and memory come together. Under a sky shimmering with gold and embers, the smiling calaveras, the iconic skulls of the Mexican festival—and the flamboyant displays of cempasúchil flowers, or Indian roses, invite visitors on a new journey without leaving Paris, guided straight by grace and color.

The Great Awakening of the Attractions

Among the Garden’s 45 attractions, the spirit of Mexico takes over the rides for a whirlwind of emotions :

• The Enchanted River: Usually known for its magical charm, it will momentarily set aside its gentle tranquility to shroud itself in mysterious mists where mischievous skeletons guide adventurers along the water’s flow.

• The Mayan Labyrinth: Amid mirror reflections and hidden paths, the spirit of the great empire-builders emerges to challenge everyone’s intuition and sense of direction. Will you be able to find your way out?

Admission: 2 attraction tickets or an Unlimited Pass — Open Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and every day during school holidays, from October 3rd to November 1st

• Samba de Los Muertos: Against an autumn sky, a fleeting parade of graceful hot-air balloons adorned with flowers takes flight and dances in the wind.

A Whiff of Celebration and Music

To bring the spirit of this distant land to life, the mariachi orchestra Arrieras Somos—an all-female ensemble of ten virtuoso musicians—fills the alleys with its enchanting melodies. Young and old alike can also indulge in the art of face painting to be reborn, for a day, in the poetic and vibrant guise of the festival’s legendary figures. 

The Magic of the Holidays

From October 17th to November 1st, the mystery deepens with the grand return of the Compagnie des Dragonfly.

Nominated for the French Magic Federation Awards in the “2027 Amusement Park Show” category, this show, created exclusively for the Garden, promises thirty minutes of spectacular illusions at the Théâtre Rouge.

Admission: 2 attraction tickets or Unlimited Pass — Performances at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. from October 17th to November 1st (no shows on October 27th & 28th)

On October 17 and 29, performances will exceptionally take place at 4:00 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.

And as twilight begins to envelop the park’s century-old trees, the “Baile del Fuego” takes the stage at 6:30 p.m. Flamboyant costumes, enchanting dances, and incandescent rhythms unite a troupe of artists in a grand finale of energy and pure joy, bringing the day to a close with a dazzling celebration.

A Journey for the Taste Buds

To make the change of scenery complete, the flavors of Mexico awaken the senses. Fajitas, empanadas, nachos, and jambalaya come together to create a warm and indulgent culinary experience. And to honor tradition in true style, Pan de Muerto—a brioche delicately scented with orange blossom—and the must-try churros await food lovers for a final moment of indulgence.
