As part of the “Around the World in 365 Days” series held annually at the Jardin d’Acclimatation, there is one event you won’t want to miss, arguably the most anticipated of the spring: Holi, the great Indian festival of colors.

Rooted in India’s millennia-old history, Holi is an ode to renewal, to rediscovered light, and to shared joy. It is precisely this magic that the Jardin d’Acclimatation brings to life for a single, timeless day. Paris is then bathed in the colors of Jaipur and the rhythms of Mumbai.

Once again this year, the park will come alive on May 31, like a living painting. The elegant silhouettes of Kerala dancers will perform ancient movements that recount the sacred epics of southern India. Further on, vibrant Bollywood choreographies will sweep the audience up in a contagious energy. On the main stage, concerts and performances will keep hearts and hands moving for nine hours straight. Along the pathways, a village of stalls will recreate the atmosphere of Indian markets, with colorful crafts, percussion, and the scent of spices. Naan or samosas? No need to choose—nine food stands will also offer all the iconic flavors of India for a spicy, flavorful journey to faraway lands.

And then comes that magical moment, the one we’ve all been waiting for: the spectacular release of colors at 4:00 p.m. around the main stage! As the true highlight of this grand celebration, the crowd bursts with joy in a whirlwind of multicolored pigments to celebrate the arrival of spring together.
